Military aircraft transports more samples of war martyrs’ remains to Hanoi for DNA identification

This was the 12th transport operation and the second to use military aircraft. It also marked the completion of sample collection by Military Region 9 under the 500-day campaign to intensify the search for, recovery and identification of fallen soldiers' remains nationwide.

The transportation of the 15,401 samples marked the 11th such shipment and the first to be carried by a military transport aircraft, representing a journey of gratitude and tribute to the nation's fallen heroes, said Lt. Gen. Ho Van Thai.
Military Region 9 is implementing a plan to search for, collect, and identify the remains of fallen soldiers

Implementing the "500-day campaign to intensify the search, collection, and identification of the remains of fallen soldiers," Military Region 9 is currently collecting tens of thousands of remains of unidentified and partially identified fallen soldiers from cemeteries in Vinh Long and Can Tho cities for DNA testing, contributing to the identification of the remains of fallen soldiers.
